She later decides to remain in America to combat the criminals. The third and second seasons shifted the action to the then-present-day 1970s and included Waggoner currently playing the son of Trevor, Steve Trevor Jr. While Cathy Lee Crosby holds the distinction of being the first actor to play Wonder Woman in live-action with the 1974 TV movie Wonder Woman, Carter was the most well-known and well-known version of the DC superhero until Gal Gadot stepped into the role of the DC Extended Universe.

Do you think Gal Gadot remain in the DCU?
She was a guest in Shazam! Fury of the Gods, Gadot’s future in the DC Universe remains unclear. The actress was originally scheduled to return for a third Wonder Woman film, but the project was cancelled following the selection of James Gunn and Peter Safran as the heads of DC Studios. In spite of the DC change in leadership, Gunn stated that Gadot was not “booted” from the iconic DC role. Gunn has not yet stated whether he will return Gadot as Wonder Woman for future DCU projects.
The uncertainty surrounding Gadot’s next chapter as Wonder Woman has been a source of some fan speculation that Ana de Armas ( Knives Out, No Time to Die, Ghosted) succeed Gadot as Wonder Woman. De Armas stated in an interview she believed that Gadot was doing a good job as Wonder Woman, and she believes “she should continue to do that.” As of now, Gunn has not announced any plans for Wonder Woman aside from an Game of Thrones-style prequel series set on Themyscira prior to the birth of Diana Prince.
