A talented Dragon Ball fan has created an incredible gender-bending Vegeta cosplay.
It was shared on Reddit and displayed at the recent Sakura Con, the costume shows the Prince of All Saiyan’s signature black hair that is spiky replaced by flowing, long hair. The costume also has a more feminine rendition of the classic Saiyan blue and white battle armor.

The massive Dragon Ball multi-media series began in 1984, with the release of the first chapter from Akira Toriyama’s manga of the same name in Shuiesha’s Weekly Shonen Jump. The story follows Son Goku’s journey from childhood to adulthood, as the battle-loving and food-lover’s kid learns martial arts and embarks on adventures. Through the years, Goku and his comrades encounter and combat a myriad of wacky but dangerous villains, like galactic Tyrant Frieza and the bio-android Cell.
Mega-Franchise for Dragon Ball’s Mega-Franchise
Toriyama’s series is among the best-selling ever, having more than 300 million copies sold across the globe. Because of its huge recognition and popularity, Dragon Ball was adapted by Toei Animation into multiple anime and many tie-in movies. The massive franchise also offers many video games, collectibles and merchandise, themed park experiences, music soundtracks, fan-made content and even like cosplay.

Recent fan-created content created by fans created by fans for Dragon Ball includes the gender-swapped Vegeta costume. For instance one Twitter user by the name of Berserk Boy posted a colorful 8-bit video of Goku and Vegeta attacking each other with powerful energy beams. Moreover, Filipina cosplayer rikkaxrose showed their version of the her fan-favorite character Bulma Briefs dressed as the blue-haired scientist and engineer in a classic bunny costume.

Fans of Toriyama’s work are more excited about than just stunning fan art and impressive cosplay. It’s not surprising that Toei Animation and Bandai Namco released a trailer for a new title within the Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi video game series. These games let players take control of fan-favorite characters like Son Goku or Vegeta, and then battle it out. Since the previous mainline entry in the series debuted in 2007, the announcement of Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4 was a major surprise for many. Furthermore Toriyama’s Sand Land manga, which is similar in style and tone to Dragon Ball, will receive a film adaptation later in the year. Beelzebub is voiced by Mutsumi Tamura (Tribe Nine) known as a voice actor.
