Latina Cosplayer Lis wonder turns into DC superhero Isis.
Lis Wonder thought of the way Adrianna Tomaz, the Black Adam character from DCU’s film as her superpowered alter-ego, Isis.
The Latina cosplayer has recently shared images of herself as an authentic comic book character Isis on Twitter. “I loved #BlackAdam and the JSA… I want more! I want Isis!” Wonder wrote on the back of the photos. “This cosplay was an enjoyable project. I love my [Berserker Customs] custom made 3D Isis jewelry!” Sarah Shahi played Isis’ human counterpart Adrianna tomaz in Black Adam. This version portrays the character as an archaeologist, resistance fighter in Intergang-controlled Kahndaq.

Adrianna Tomaz first appeared in DC Comics’ 52#3 (May 2006) as an infected Egyptian refugee taken to Black Adam as a present from Intergang. After being freed by the help of Black Adam, Adrianna changed the way that the powerful antihero looked at the world, causing him to strive to do kinder actions. Black Adam, who was happy to help him was able to give the Amulet Of Isis to Adrianna. This allowed her control over numerous aspects of the world. Although Black Adam was Adrianna’s first live-action movie, the character and its superhero counterpart, Captain Marvel (now named Shazam) were earlier portrayed by Erica Cerra and Tala Ashe in DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.
Black Adam Characters may be included in spinoff films
As Shahi’s Adrianna tomaz is still powerless within DCU, Black Adam star and producer Dwayne John suggested the possibility of spinoffs that show Tomaz’s transformation into Isis. “We have some ideas of what characters people are likely to be receptive to in Black Adam, and we’re already looking ahead to: ‘Let’s get started thinking about that movie, and what that movie looks like for them in the future,'” Johnson said in August 2022. The other Black Adam characters who might get their own movies include Hawkman, Doctor Fate, Atom Smasher and Cyclone who were featured in the movie as Justice Society members.
