Marvel is believed to be looking into the possibility of splitting Avengers: Secret Wars into two films. One will arrive in the upcoming phase 7.
Marvel fans may have to wait a little more time to see Avengers: Secret Wars. Marvel Studios is said to be in discussions with the studio regarding splitting the forthcoming superhero movie into two movies. The second film would be delayed until the seventh phase.
According to Inside the Magic credible insiders have stated that Marvel Studios is reconsidering how best to launch Secret Wars. One of the options is to split the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe installment into two films. If Marvel decides to go this route, Secret Wars Part II and the end of the Multiverse Saga will be delayed “a few years”. In February 2023, reports surfaced that Marvel Studios might make the coming blockbuster film into a two-parter. As of now, Marvel Studios and Disney have not yet responded to the rumors, which means that fans should take these reports with a grain of salt for now. Avengers’ Secret Wars will debut on the big screen on May 1st, 2026.

Avengers: Secret Wars was revealed at 2022’s San Diego Comic-Con and is expected to serve as the direct sequel to Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. The plot details for the upcoming Avengers sequels are still being developed. But, Benedict Cumberbatch will be playing an antagonist in the role of Doctor Strange in The Kang Dynasty. Strange has become a key actor in The Multiverse Saga, with the most recent film featuring the character, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, appearing to be the catalyst for the Secret Wars storyline. The 2022 film’s end-credits scene spoke of an imminent “incursion,” a term pulled from the 2015 Secret Wars comic book storyline that is used to describe two worlds that are about to meet. Marvel is focusing on quality over the quantity
The first three installments of The Infinity Saga were well-received by both fans and critics However, Phase 4 was not so fortunate. The film received mixed reviews. After receiving “internal negative feedback” concerning the quality and distribution, Marvel Studios is reportedly reconsidering its next slate with a stronger focus on quality over quantity. While unconfirmed, this renewed determination to create the most effective product is likely to be the reason Marvel is considering breaking up Avengers: Secret Wars into two films as well as extending The Multiverse Saga through an additional phase. This move has already been a factor in Echo and Ironheart as well as Agatha and the Coven of Chaos.

Who will oversee the secret conflicts?
Avengers Secret Wars currently has no director. Shang Chi director Destin Dan Cretton is currently serving as The Kang Dynasty director but is not required or expected to direct Secret Wars. Anthony and Joe Russo who directed Avengers and Avengers are not expected to be in the running to direct the sixth Avengers movie. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Its Ryan Coogler was rumored in the latter half of 2022 that he had been hired, but he quickly denied the rumors by calling them “crazy.” It is unknown when Marvel will reveal the director for Secret Wars.

Avengers: Secret Wars is currently scheduled to hit theaters on May 1, 2026.
