Mysterium first appeared in 2020’s S.W.O.R.D. #1 and is an ultra-durable, highly resistant metal that can only currently be created by the world’s mutants. Mysterium was created in the White Hot Room, a plane of existence serving as a residence for the Phoenix. Mysterium is a powerful substance that can conduct electricity and negate magic.
The new metal Scarlet Witch and Polaris have in their possession seems to have anti-magic powers that exceed Mysterium. While looking at Scarlet Witch#2, Wanda said, “So much unknown within such a small stone. Cold iron. Not Orichalcum. Nu Uru. They could not repel my magic. You will be surrounded by Inquest spells.”

Scarlet Witch’s New Storefront

Scarlet Witch is the Emporium’s keeper and spends her day looking at cryptic materials and other strange artifacts. Wanda founded the shop in Scarlet Witch#1 and revealed that her business venture was created to sell magic items to people in dire need. Scarlet Witch, a portal known as the Lost Door, is only accessible to those in dire straits. She has thus far assisted a wide range of characters from the Marvel universe including Viv Vision, Storm, and Storm.
Wanda’s drive to help people stems from her desire for a new start after years of tragedy. Her difficult relationship with Vision, her ex-husband, and her connections with Magneto are just a few examples. In Issue #1 Quicksilver laughed initially at his sister’s new business venture but was eventually impressed by it.
Scarlet Witch#3 has been written by Steve Orlando. Sara Pichelli illustrated the issue. Elisabetta d’Amico inked it. Matthew Wilson colored it and Cory Petit wrote the lettering. The issue includes a Russell Dauterman main cover and variant covers by Alex Ross (Carmen Carnero), Nolan Woodard, Nabetse Zitro, Nakayama, Nabetse Citro, and Federico Blee. Scarlet Witch#3 is available from Marvel.
