Imagine my suprise when i went to an artists gallery to meet an wonderful woman named Rhonda. Rhonda is prob around my mothers age
sorry mom
but 50+. We sit discussing her beautiful paintings and i am surprised with "what anime is that from?"
**stunned**
**"wait what? anime?"***
Chigusa always remember to sport her anime t-shirts where ever she goes

. In this case i was wearing an YuYu Hakusho t-shirt i had misplaced for ages.
Rhonda begins telling me how much she loves anime and that she watches alot of it on netflix. She then proceeds to converse with me on how wonderful the artwork is and that she loves much of the character designs the background work. We begin to swap stories and she even stuns me with her knowledge of not only japanese based artists and korean based artist. The whole experience rocked! I walked in to look at art and walked out having swapped anime "must see's" with a woman much my elder and a well respected artist in her community to boot.
I know there are anime fans in all age groups of course, but Rhonda is still new to anime and it is refreshing to find someone her age just getting started in the world we love. Most people if they are not exposed to it earlier would just write it off as cartoons.
Rhonda ... I salute you and welcome you to a brave new world
