This post is a shout out to the military for their thankless efforts to protect and to keep American people safe. Our children can go to school today without fear. Our adults can work, go shopping, or attend an exercise class without worry. Why? Because of the wonderful American military of the past, present, & future. Thank you for protecting us. Okunen is steadily getting back to “normal,” of course with a ton of changes! The forum is up and kicking butt, the gallery is in process of being restored, and numerous other features are slowly being brought back to life. Thanks for sticking around…keep checking back often as updates will be on a daily basis. Leave a comment and let us know what you like, don’t like, and if you find any bugs or anomalies. If you have not been to Okunen in a while, you may not have known that our irresponsible host, Bluehost.com, had server troubles and during repair and “rebuild,” all of Okunen’s data was completely lost. Even our backup data was lost. At that point, after 8+ years of work, I thought maybe I would lay Okunen to rest. But after many emails from Okunen otaku’s and after realizing that I was having withdrawals, I decided to bring Okunen back after all…call it a respawn in 5…4…3…2…
But I promised myself that I would completely revamp the site if that occurred. So welcome to the brand new look…aren’t post-apocalyptic things supposed to be ugly? Ah, but not Okunen…so far it is very nice, and a change from the old dark background!
So bear with me, this is a work in progress and life doesn’t allow me to sit endlessly and nurse Okunen back to life. It will be a slow process, refinement of features, and a home for old otaku’s and new.
